Lowry, Colorado is the place I currently call home. I’ve lived in Colorado my entire life and Lowry may be my favorite place so far.
Located just 15 minutes east of Denver, Lowry is a laid back town with plenty to offer young families and single professionals.
If you find yourself in Lowry for an afternoon, here are a few things I recommend:
Activities in Lowry
Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum is located near the Lowry Town Center, right in the middle of all the action. This aerospace museum is great for all ages offering info for the aircraft enthusiast as well as a chance to sit in the cockpit of several planes, which the children love. They are open 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Mon-Fri and 12:00-5:00 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is under $13.00 for adults, seniors, military and children.
Bars in Lowry
The Lowry Beer Garden is a hot spot in town, featuring live music every Saturday night from 7:00-10:00 p.m. I was pleasantly surprised with the food and drink menu, which was very reasonably priced. They have a Super Giant Pretzel with Cheese for $14 that is literally bigger than two heads. The vibe of this place is great. Their large picnic tables are perfect for a big group of friends to get together for drinks.
Soiled Dove is an awesome bar located underneath The Tavern. They bring in great artists and have an intimate venue that seats you no more than 45 feet from the talent.
Restaurants in Lowry
I’m impressed with the food options in Lowry. My favorite spot right now is North County, a baja-style Mexican restaurant with beachy decor and a modern patio. They have excellent tacos and great happy hour deals.
The Tavern Lowry is the place to go if you’re with a group with various tastes in food. Everything here is good but I especially love the pizza. If the weather is nice, opt for sitting on the patio. Their outdoor bar is awesome!
If you’re looking for an upscale Italian place look no further than Cafe Mercado. I dream about their roasted pear salad, it’s that good. I’d recommend this restaurant to someone looking for a quiet, romantic date night or a small group out for lunch.
The best pizza in Lowry can be found at Serioz Pizza. They bring delicious garlic bread and marinara sauce to your table which instantly makes them a winner in my book. I love the laid back, neighborhood pizza place feel. It’s a comfortable place to bring the family i.e. this place is packed with young children.
Sweets in Lowry
Did you know that Rocket Ice Cream serves Little Man Ice Cream (read my review of Little Man Ice Cream here) products? That means you can get that same delicious handmade ice cream without the 30 minute line.
Be sure to get to Lowry soon, once word spreads that Lowry is just as rad as the LoHi district in Denver it’s going to be packed every weekend. Thankfully, the parking here is free and the prices at all restaurants and bars are reasonable. Put Lowry on your list of places to visit next time you’re in Denver.
