I want to take a moment to sing praises about a new restaurant and bar in Stapleton, Colorado. While there are several Punch Bowl Social locations across the country, I couldn’t be more excited to have one just a hop, skip and jump from home.
While Denver is crawling with incredible restaurants, bars and event venues, I still struggle with finding a place that can fit a large group. It’s so uncomfortable when you finally get your group together, only to be forced to push small tables together and grab chairs from neighboring tables.
That’s why I believe Punch Bowl Social Stapleton deserves a special shout-out, and no, I wasn’t paid to write this. That’s just how much I love them.
Large Tables
It is so frustrating when you have a bunch of friends sitting at a table and you feel stuck in your seat – there’s no room to move around and it’s impossible to talk with people at the other end of the table. Thankfully, the space at Punch Bowl Social is large enough to move around and switch seats, without getting glares from tables nearby. I’ve looked far and wide for bars and restaurants that can comfortably host a large number of people, and nothing comes close to the selection of tables at Punch Bowl Social in Stapleton – especially on the 2nd floor. Not to mention, the wood slab tables literally look like works of art.
Bowling & Ping Pong & Foosball & Darts & Giant Scrabble & Karaoke
This is why this place is perfect for large groups – there’s really something for everyone. My husband and I had our Bachelor/Bachelorette party at Punch Bowl Social on South Broadway and our group dispersed across the entire venue. If you have your heart set on bowling, call ahead of time to reserve the lanes. We were here on a Sunday afternoon and the lanes were full, but other activities were wide open and I could totally see my niece and nephew playing Foosball while I caught up with my sister in one of the many seating areas nearby.
Food & Drinks
I am always pleasantly surprised by the food selection at Punch Bowl Social. Most recently, we ordered the Lobster Bacon Fries and the Chips ‘N’ Dip, both were fantastic. I don’t know what they do to their chips, but they’re thick and salty and wonderful. My husband always teases me – but I will take a soda over a beer any day. I was so excited to see a Soda and Fizzes section on the menu! I ordered a Blue Sky Cream Soda. YUM. They also have house-made syrups for one-of-a-kind sodas.
Outdoor Space
A priority for me when choosing a venue for an event is ample outdoor space – especially in the summer. While Punch Bowl Social on South Broadway is somewhat lacking in this area, Punch Bowl Social in Stapleton nailed it. We visited on a chilly afternoon so the tables weren’t set up, but that didn’t stop a few guys from playing lawn games on the patio. Punch Bowl Social in Stapleton even has a little pool feature. Unfortunately, the feature will never be filled with water for safety reasons, but children still enjoy playing in the little boats while adults lounge in the recliners.
Parking
A huge perk for a large group – FREE PARKING! Opening a location away from the city was genius. Finally, an event space that actually has enough parking for everyone. No more feeding the meter!
If you’re looking for a space to host your bachelor, bachelorette, birthday, or corporate event, definitely consider Punch Bowl Social. This is a cool space with something for every age group.
