Colorado Wedding Venue Reviews

Whether you are planning on getting married in the spring, summer, fall or winter, Colorado is sure to provide a stunning backdrop for your big day. Choosing to get married in colorful Colorado is easy. The difficult part? Selecting the perfect venue. There are just so many great options!

Before searching for a venue, it is important to answer these three questions:

  1. Do you prefer an indoor or outdoor ceremony?
  2. What vibe are you going for (casual, luxurious, intimate, woodsy, modern)?
  3. What is your budget?

Once you’ve narrowed down the look and feel you are going for, you can begin the search for the ideal spot.

I reached out to a handful of couples and asked them about their Colorado wedding venues and what made them “say yes to the venue.” This is what they had to say.

“Budget friendly, beautiful mountain-like environment, friendly staff, and accessibility to Denver for our guests were just a few of the reasons my now husband and I choose to get married at the Boettcher Mansion. We selected our wedding venue while I was out of state making it that much more critical for the venue to communicate and listen to what we were looking for. The staff at Boettcher Mansion did all of that and more. I really wanted to have a s’mores bar and when I asked about this option at other venues we were told we had to use their caterer which were going to charge three dollars per s’more!!! THREE DOLLARS!!! The Boettcher Mansion accommodated our desires, our budget, and were truly a pleasure to work with. If I could reverse time and make changes to our wedding I would make none! The whole day was under control, stress-free, and the staff allowed the events of the night to proceed freely and naturally, by still keeping the schedule on track.” – Leah B.

“When my husband and I were looking for wedding Venues we wanted somewhere classy, we are from old school Italian families who love a good party. Ever since I was a little girl I always wanted to get married at the Chateaux in Broomfield, CO. It reminded me of a princess like wedding and it was my dream Venue in Colorado. Our wedding day was the best day and couldn’t have been more perfect. From the staff to the wedding coordinator and to all the vendors we chose it was fabulous. They have packages and pre-set prices for ease of wedding planning and we were able to choose everything from the linens to the lighting. The Chateaux had everything we were looking for. A cocktail hour that was fabulous in the back, the space inside to seat 100+ guests and they even have a separate room downstairs in case of “weather” that we could have easily used if needed for cocktail hour. Couldn’t have had a better venue to celebrate at.” -Joe and Ashley A.

“My husband Brian and I got married early October in Golden at the Golden Hotel! We have always loved the mountains and really wanted a beautiful mountain wedding. However, we know that here in Colorado the weather can be a bit unpredictable! We chose the Golden Hotel as it was just mountain enough for us, but wouldn’t be as much of a trip for our guests, especially if the weather didn’t cooperate. The courtyard sits right next to Clear Creek and is surrounded by gorgeous scenery. The hotel has a wonderful historic feel to it but has been updated just enough to stay current! The location and beauty of the Golden Hotel is what really sold us on this venue! The day, the location and the venue could not have been more perfect.” – Amber M.

“We got married in Westminster at Noah’s Event Center. We loved it! The people at Noah are so helpful and they provide so many things for a bride. What stuck out for me at the venue was the dining hall! We were able to envision our first dance and people having fun. The venue provided linens, tables, lights and much more.” – Ashley M.

“My husband and I got married at The Pines at Genesee in Golden, Colorado. We had a lot of out of town guests coming, so our goal was to have the quintessential mountain wedding without the precarious mountain driving. When I saw the long cobblestone aisle and the lush green backdrop I knew The Pines at Genesee was the place I wanted my friends and family to witness us saying, ‘I do.’ On the day of our wedding, just minutes before the ceremony, the was a torrential downpour! What a nightmare, I thought. Fortunately, the staff at The Pines at Genesee knew exactly how to handle the situation and gathered all the guests inside to wait out the storm. The clouds cleared, the trees glistened in the sunlight, and I married the love of my life. My wedding day was all I had pictured and more.” -Emma H.

“Our wedding was at Spruce Mountain Ranch in Larkspur, Colorado. We had planned to have everything outside as a nice spring day was expected. Well, the Colorado weather had its own plans! That week there was over two feet of snow! We quickly changed plans and our venue and vendors were SO helpful in switching everything around. (hello panic for a bride!) It was the most perfect day! I married the love of my life against a beautiful Colorado snowy lodge backdrop!” -Claire Z.

“My husband Andrew and I were married at the United States Air Force Academy Cadet Chapel. We were both drawn to the strong sense of tradition that came along with the venue and the architecture and design of the chapel is absolutely breathtaking. The iconic 94 ft pinnacle ceiling, the stained glass, and the massive pipe organ were the features that we were most attracted to. We could not have been more thrilled with our choice and our wedding was incredible!” – Kristen M.

Hopefully these suggestions help you as you dive into wedding planning! You have a lot of big decisions to make and I wish you the best of luck.

One last piece of wedding planning advice. When it comes to the seating chart: Don’t listen to Patrick Swayze. Always put baby in the corner. The babies will sleep easier while everyone is dancing and the moms will thank you for the extra bit of car seat space.

Happy planning,
