Forest Room 5 review

I featured Forest Room 5 in my What is Your Happy Hour Type? Take the Quiz blog, and ever since people have been asking me questions like: Does the patio really look like a forest? Is it as cool as it sounds? Is it expensive?

Yes. Yes. And No.

Forest Room 5 is currently my favorite bar in Denver because it is so unique. I have never seen anything like it. The drink prices are fairly reasonable and they have a daily happy hour from 4-6 p.m. Score.

Where to sit

Most people opt for sitting outside in the beautiful forest, but should you choose to sit indoors, there are large wooden tables with comfortable “mushroom” stump stools. Out on the patio you may choose between a swinging bench, tree stumps and traditional booths.

What to bring

Bring your dogs! This patio is one of the few dog-friendly places in the LoHi district. They even have water bowls, available upon request.

When to go

If you’re looking for decently priced drinks, go for the happy hour from 4-6 p.m. Otherwise, aim to be there at sunset. The trees sparkle with the setting sun, the air is nice and crisp and the staff light up the fire pits. This place is best when it’s warm outside, obviously, but if you can snag a spot next to a fire I’m sure it would be stunning in the colder months.

What to order

I like sweet cocktails, my husband likes IPAs. I ordered the Huckleberry Lynx ($10, pictured below) and he ordered the Eddyline Crank Yanker IPA ($5). They were both delicious. The menu changes pretty frequently so what we ordered may not be available anymore. They also serve food here, we have ordered dinner in the past and loved it.
